Autism Spectrum

For over four years we have completed PR tasks for Aspect and for its ancillary roles within AAETC (Australian Autism Education & Training Consortium) and as a major participant at APAC (Australian Pacific Autism Conference.) Feehan Communications has focused on spreading knowledge of how the organisation works and the benefits it brings families with a child on the spectrum. Approaches are made to media in the area of health and education as well as art and events. For example, in 2010 the arrival of Stephen Wiltshire, the British artist and autistic savant, as a guest of Aspect for Autism Month, bought much publicity.

Stephen Wiltshire is an exceptional talent and it was a great honour to host him in Sydney. From a media liaison point of view, it was vital that we communicated the key messages of Aspect, our client, whilst also being sensitive to the particular needs of Wiltshire. The media approached by Feehan Communications before and during the artist’s visit were well briefed and the array of results - broadcast, print and television -  show what a success the week was.

Specialist art and culture magazines were approached, on top of major metropolitan newspapers and magazines. This simply allowed the story of Wiltshire’s visit and the name and cause of Aspect to reach a wider, more varied audience.
