MS Research Australia’s mission is to accelerate Australian research by targeting the prevention, better treatment and cure for MS. Feehan Communications has helped their goals in communicating this message via the media to the community. For the past 6 years our work with MSRA has increased awareness of research discoveries and fundraising activities. We edit the quarterly news report, set up national interviews and stories for print and broadcast media and were instrumental in developing its successful Kiss goodbye to MS campaign which enters its 4th year.

The National Association of People living with HIV/AIDS (NAPHWA) approached us just two weeks out of a major launch to ‘Start a Conversation’. Extensive coverage was given to this topic which encouraged those living with HIV/AIDS to talk to their doctor about new treatments. Our success on that first project has led to on-going publicity assistance for talks in the community, updated information about incidence of HIV/AIDS, an audit of the stigma endured by those living with the disease and interviews and interest created around a recent conference in Melbourne.

The multi award winning Balloon Aloft has been a client of Feehan Communications for three years. Each year we contact travel specialists in the media with new angles to bring publicity to the country’s most experienced balloon flight company. A fun, lovely and colourful commercial client!

We have been thrilled to be the PR team behind the past four History Weeks in NSW. This initiative of the History Council of NSW has enlivened interest with different themes, 2009 ‘Scandals, Crime and Corruption’, 2010 ‘Faces in the Street’, 2011 ‘Eat History’ and this year ‘Threads’. Each year we have attracted interest via new and traditional media; encouraging increased hits to the website and event attendance. We promoted history as an exciting, interesting and relevant discipline and expanded the traditional audience and media of the Week to existing and new followers.

Feehan Communications was part of the team that started the Jeans for Genes campaign in 1994. We work on it for 15 years and aided the fundraising goals through extensive publicity across the country. Our catchy, consumer-friendly messages centralised around a particular goal; to ‘get involved’ with call to action to support research into genetic childhood diseases. The service has provided a return on investment to the CMRI that would make a banker blush. Click here for a glimpse of a teeny tiny selection of our recent results. In our final campaign for them in 2010 we generated close to 400 press clippings and some 90 broadcast results.

For over four years we have completed PR tasks for Aspect and for its ancillary roles within AAETC ( Australian Autism Education & Training Consortium) and as a major participant at APAC (Australian Pacific Autism Conference.) Feehan Communications has focused on spreading knowledge of how the organisation works and the benefits it brings families with a child on the spectrum.
